The DreamCloud hybrid mattress fulfills all of our requirements for what a perfect mattress must provide. With eight exceptional layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud makes use of all of the proper materials in its construction. Dream Cloud Glass Tile
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the top comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mixture of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress has better quality comfort materials than other mattresses.
Despite the fact that it makes use of multiple memory foam layers, there isn’t any significant shaping or hug to the mattress. If you’re wanting to sink into a mattress, the DreamCloud is probably not for you.
A pocketed coil support core ensures that you are aligned all night long, especially for for those of you who lie on your back.

Construction Dream Cloud Glass Tile
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humungous 15″. The 8-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate together to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief. Dream Cloud Glass Tile
Because of all the distinct materials at play here, I’m excited to get into these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate comfort.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will notice three layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and give some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The core of the three layers is particularly essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is good at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these small ventilations promotes more cooling. Dream Cloud Glass Tile
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress good bounce and help to spread motion throughout the structure. The coils also help in regulating temperature as the distances between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam can be found at the base of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After discussing the build of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting mild hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to interact with the pocketed coils below and felt a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this point I’d like to let you know that individuals of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Instead of giving only my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted 3 other individuals to present their opinion as well. This should provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you should see from the mattress.
The individuals were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the industry norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent that the DreamCloud is pretty firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the lavish polyurethane top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from this bed and make you feel as though you are sleeping on top of the mattress, as opposed to in it.
Instead of just explaining the feel of the mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my side, back, and stomach. You can find the results on the graph below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the mattress and keep my back aligned.
Side – As you can see in the image above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported, and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my tummy, I believed the mattress did a great job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which I think can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will probably want to find out what it’ll feel like if the other individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. The next test is meant to demonstrate the amount of motion that’s felt from one side of the mattress from the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance. Dream Cloud Glass Tile
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting his/her position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be pretty great at isolating motion, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making the DreamCloud a great option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it. To demonstrate this sinkage, I placed four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the DreamCloud then took a look at how much they compressed the surface of the mattress.
The differences in size, density, and weight are supposed to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers.
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.

If you’ll be sharing your mattress with a partner and will need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is likely to be important for you to think about the level of edge support it will provide.
I am very interested to determine if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that cannot live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring mattresses.
Lying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the bed as I did at the center. Going closer to the edge, I felt a little compression because of the upper foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Rolling over to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, however, it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did an awesome job of supporting my weight.
In this last position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up well.
