Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Cost
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Cost

Construction Helix Mattress Cost
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Cost
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you prefer something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a tinier region. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem quite right, you may always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will find the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, the company does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Cost
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure that you clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
