Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Customer Service
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Customer Service

Construction Helix Mattress Customer Service
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique models (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Customer Service
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some top quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes can also select a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options seem quite right, you may always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Customer Service
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While getting a new mattress, the majority of men and women would like to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Customer Service
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
