Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Deals
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Deals

Construction Helix Mattress Deals
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different variants (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Deals
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and produces some top quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models seem quite right, you could always have a look at the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be crucial for all buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Deals
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free of charge, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Deals
Helix Sleep offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure that you wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
