Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Financing
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective option gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Financing

Construction Helix Mattress Financing
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams used in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine unique mattresses (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Financing
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options feel quite right, you could always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to reach the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Financing
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you wash using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
