Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Locations
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective variant provides a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Locations

Construction Helix Mattress Locations
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different variants (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Mattress Locations
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these models feel quite right, you can always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Locations
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Locations
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
