Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Pad
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each individual model offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Pad

Construction Helix Mattress Pad
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Pad
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those options feel right, you may always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the collection).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Pad
According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you are going to find the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is sent to your home. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Pad
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure to wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
