Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Piercing Sleepers

Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each respective model provides a unique combination of support and firmness:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support

Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.

Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Piercing Sleepers

Construction Helix Piercing Sleepers

All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique models (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Piercing Sleepers

Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

helix-midnight-construction

Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for temperature regulation.

Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to encounter some great body shaping. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.

Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.

Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.

Firmness and Support

After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.

Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.

For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.

Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.

Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.

Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.

Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.

Partners with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.

Keep in mind that if none of these options sound quite right, you could always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).

Motion Transfer

Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for all sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Piercing Sleepers

Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.

Sinkage

When buying a brand-new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.

Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.

Edge Support

Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the bed.

In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.

Laying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has great edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free, and get a complete refund.

If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Piercing Sleepers

Helix Warranty

The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!

If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.

For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.

Final Thoughts Helix Piercing Sleepers

If you are shopping for a mattress and are not quite certain what feel that you need, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz might be the key to unlocking your best sleep with little hassle. Their amazing system, which is based on expert sentiment and AI, was designed to better their client’s sleep by giving a better match. Helix Piercing Sleepers

The features of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to provide options whether you were searching for a mattress that keeps cool all night, in the event that you wanted one to cradle your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should offer good edge support and movement transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped structure.

I hope that I have provided you some idea of what the average consumer can expect from this mattress, but it truly does provide an impressive assortment of customization with an option for literally every specific desire or need. Your next best sleep might just be a brief online quiz away.
