Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each individual model gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews

Construction Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you want something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which variant you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options feel right, you may always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be crucial for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is not any different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Bed Reviews
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1″ or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain that you wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
