Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Commercial
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Customers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Commercial

Construction Helix Sleep Commercial
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams used in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct models (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Sleep Commercial
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which model you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those models seem quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all buyers, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it will show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel quite secured seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Commercial
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain to clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
