Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual variant provides a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile

Construction Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique versions (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some great body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes can also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options seem right, you could always check out the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will reach the pocketed coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a vast assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Sleep Corporate Profile
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
