Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep/Cozy 125
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Buyers are asked to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective option offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Sleep/Cozy 125

Construction Helix Sleep/Cozy 125
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep/Cozy 125
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with more options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. Those who are smaller than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models sound right, you may always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep/Cozy 125
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and feel fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep/Cozy 125
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure to clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
