Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Delivery
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each individual option gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Delivery

Construction Helix Sleep Delivery
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep Delivery
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or preferences can also pick a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these options seem quite right, you may always check out the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Delivery
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, most people would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combination will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Delivery
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to clean using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
