The 3 distinct firmness settings of the Alexander Signature Hybrid all make use of the same general construction, but with slightly different foams and densities. Each bed begins with 8 inches of individually-wrapped support coils. The second layer is 1 inch of “SmartFlow” support polyfoam, that is intended to add airflow and assists with heat retention. Each firmness level utilizes 3 PCF (lbs per cubic foot foam in this layer. The following layer is 1.5″ of either 2.5 PCF copper-treated “Energex” polyfoam (Plush), 3.5 PCF copper-treated Energex polyfoam (Medium) or 4.5 PCF slow-recovery memory foam (Luxury Firm). The last layer is 1.5″ of “TitanChil” cooling polyfoam. The bed cover is 1.5″ of 4 PCF gel-infused memory foam within a quilted, cooling cloth. This offers a gentle texture.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid is available in three firmness settings: Plush (3), Medium (5) and a Luxury Firm (8). Firmness is based on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest and 1 being the least firm. You can choose between Plush, Medium, and Luxury firm. Weight is going to make an impact on what you would prefer. Generally, heavier people prefer firmer beds while lighter people normally find they can achieve more hug and shape on plusher mattresses.
Hybrids usually do not isolate movement as well as all-foam beds usually do, because inner-springs permit movement to more easily transfer across the surface of the mattress. The Alexander Signature Hybrid, though, has several foam layers on top of its inner-springs. These foam layers help the mattress absorb motion to a sizeable extent. As soon as I turned and tossed next to my partner, you could not see much movement in her body. She said that she could feel it, although detection was minimal. In spite of this, the bed still features good bounce.
If you have mobility problems, moving around while lying down may be hard. Classic memory foam frequently caused a lot of sinkage that it made it challenging to move around. But if you have too much rebound, it’s easy to disturb sleep.
You may experience some sinkage using the Alexander Signature Hybrid because of its soft foam uppermost layers. However, this sinking feeling is different from what you would achieve with a more traditional memory foam bed as it is mitigated by the mattress’ supportive pocketed coil system. Meaning you will sink, but will still have the ability to move around conveniently and get out of the bed without too much work. While there’s some sinkage here, it is not quite as striking as it would be about a conventional memory foam mattress. This creates great pressure relief with no stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
The inner-spring coil support core of the Alexander Signature Hybrid works to reinforce its edges. This gives a flat sleeping surface across the entire bed and helps prevent sinkage and sagging at the edge of the bed. The inner-spring coils are exceptional at setting that strong foundation you need. When I moved in various positions, I felt pretty well-supported. I could feel and you could actually see where I do sink in a little bit, but the sinkage in the mattress suddenly ends where the inner-spring coils begin. Despite the plush foam uppermost layers, this mattress is very supportive, thanks to the eight inches of individually-wrapped coils in its foundation. It’s quite effortless to get in and out of the bed, and I’m well–supported when I lie on the edge, a great plus for sleep partners.
The Alexander Signature Hybrid sleeps relatively cool. The inner-spring coils permit ample airflow, assisting to reduce body warmth. The foam layers, which usually trap heat, are infused with copper and cooling gel to prevent this common problem. This mattress is a good match for people who want to rest cool. This hybrid does a fantastic job of dispersing and isolating warmth, resulting in a sleeping feeling that is wonderfully cool.

Once an Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress is created, it is compressed, vacuum-sealed in plastic and sent to your front door in a marked box. Whenever a mattress is compressed and vacuum-sealed, it has a tendency to have a temporary odor when it’s unboxed. This smell is known as “off-gassing.” You can expect to see this with the Alexander Signature Hybrid, however, the smell should dissipate right away.
