Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Where Do Helix Mattresses Ship From
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to complete a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective option offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Where Do Helix Mattresses Ship From

Construction Where Do Helix Mattresses Ship From
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct mattresses (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Where Do Helix Mattresses Ship From
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are probably going to encounter some great body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and produces some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options seem quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secured seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Where Do Helix Mattresses Ship From
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to clean using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
