Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective option offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While those that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Where Is Helix Mattress Made

Construction Where Is Helix Mattress Made
All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique models (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which variant you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options seem quite right, you could always check out the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all people, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll reach the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combo will interest a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Where Is Helix Mattress Made
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is advised to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
